Volunteers

Washington Flute Circle and Flute Quest are looking for individuals who are interested in volunteering for the production of the 5th Annual Native American/World Flute Festival.  

Date for Flute Quest 2010 are August 20th, 21st, and 22nd, at Saltwater State Park. 

The festival hours are Friday & Saturday 10 AM to 5 PM, and Sunday 10 AM - 3 PM. 

Volunteer Activities:

Volunteers will be needed prior to and after these times accordingly.  Please be sure to let us know your availability on the Volunteer application form.  Our festival ends at 5 PM to accommodate our Friday and Saturday evening concerts.  We believe when you volunteer for something you enjoy it is not work per se, therefore it is important to remember to balance your time spent volunteering with time spent participating in the festival for our concerts, workshops and all other activities. 

We are looking for individuals to volunteer in a variety of capacities.  
  

For example, volunteers may be asked to assist with the Flute Quest Booth through any of the following: Workshop assistance, Ticket Sales, Program and T-Shirt Sales, and Flute Circle Sign up sheets. We also are looking for people to assist Performing Artists: to provide assistance to the Sound crew for New Breath Stage, Open Microphone and the Main Stage Concerts.  We also need assistance with shuttle, crowd or traffic control on site, assist with the Information booth, provide Photo or Press Assistance, help with Vendor Check in, Set up or Tear Down or aide the Grounds keepers to ensure that the event is the best that it can be.

We are further looking for people to assist with some smaller tasks, that can be done individually or in group processes through small committee, and larger group activities. Please let us know what talents and experiences you will be able to provide as a volunteer.  If you have particular expertise in an area of your interest please include that on the form as well.  We seek to accommodate your interest with our areas of need.  Please be sure to include your email address as this is the preferred method of communication to the volunteer group.  If you do not have email please provide the best phone number to reach you. 

After we receive your volunteer application form we will be contacting you for further information about days and times to match your schedule with our areas of need.  Please review the volunteer schedule (below) to indicate specific times you would like to volunteer.  If you have not heard from someone within two weeks following your submission of the form, it is simply an oversight, so please contact Darlene


Volunteer Training

UPDATED INFORMATION:

We will be holding two volunteer training sessions for volunteers.  For those who are volunteering in the Flute Quest booth, and Silent Auction expecially there are details that must be explained before you arrive for your volunteer shift. 

1.)  Wednesday August 4th 7-9 pm in Bellevue, at Kent's home.  For address and directions please contact Darlene. 

2.)  Sunday August 8th 10am -12pm.  Location: Saltwater State Park next to the Information Center (formally The Cafe')

You will receive an email or phone call to determine what training session you will attend.  Please confirm by email or phone call to Darlene no later than Aug 3rd.

A possible 2nd date is Sunday August 8th 10am -12pm.  Location: Saltwater State Park Class room / Meeting room, to be confirmed.  Check back often, or contact Darlene.

If these dates and times do not work with your schedule we may hold a brief overview training session at the Park on Friday morning, August 20th, TBD. 


Appreciation Party - Thursday August 19th 7-9 PM

Saltwater State Park under the Festival Tent

You are invited to attend our Appreciation Party at Flute Quest.

This will be for everyone who is involved in Flute Quest either as a volunteer, vendor, entertainer, or instructor.  We want you to join us in a party to celebrate the 5th annual Flute Quest.

We hope you will all attend and bring your appetites and excitement to meet everyone who will be involved with Flute Quest in some way.

Please bring lawn chairs and meet us under the festival tent at Saltwater State Park for the PARTY!  

Thanks and we look forward to Flute Quest 2010 to be the biggest and best ever!
